Evidence

In a heterologous phage assay, ectopic expression (ECO_0000017) of AcrIIA23 in Staphylococcus aureus restored infection of a Cas9-targeted phage. In S. pyogenes, inducible expression of AcrIIA23 restored transformation of a plasmid carrying a CRISPR-targeted sequence, demonstrating inhibition of CRISPR interference.
