Overview

Mode of Action (MoA) inhibits Cas9 enzymatic activity and DNA unwinding, and blocks the movement of HNH, thereby preventing DNA binding.
Evidence Ectopic expression (ECO_0000017) of acrIIA4 in L. monocytogenes, E. coli, and HEK293T cells effectively inhibits CRISPR-Cas9 and dCas9 activity. Binding is supported by x-ray crystallography evidence (ECO_0005670).
