Overview

Mode of Action (MoA) None
Evidence A gain-of-function mutants of gp54 (in the DEM 200-series) acquire the ability to bypass the defence (ECO_0000042), but deletion of gp54 (Tweety Δ54) restores sensitivity to the Phrann defence system (ECO_0001038), demonstrating that gp54 is not essential for lytic growth, but its presence (in variant forms) enables escape from prophage-mediated inhibition.
